Hi everyone, I’m Henry, a UK high school student and the founder of TaxBridge. I started this project because I noticed something important: we’re expected to earn, spend and save money, but almost no one teaches us how tax actually works. For many students, tax feels confusing, distant, or like something only adults and accountants need to worry about.
I believe tax literacy should be a basic life skill. Understanding how tax affects your payslip, student jobs, benefits and public services can change the way you see money, work and the wider economy. When young people know how tax works, they’re better prepared to make smart financial decisions and to spot misinformation.
That’s why I created TaxBridge: a free, student‑friendly way to learn about tax before your first payslip arrives. My goal is to break down key tax ideas into clear, short lessons that feel relevant to real life—using examples from part‑time jobs, everyday spending and the choices we face as students. Through TaxBridge, I hope to make tax less scary, more understandable and genuinely useful for every young person in the UK.
